Potential Coup
Just thought I'd post a note, as the news is spreading to more international, non-Asian, news broadcasts, but there is a lot of protesting going on in Thailand right now, and a potential coup is brewing. Protesters have taken over the Government House in Bangkok, and the airports in Krabi and Phuket down south. They just declaired a state of emergency in Bangkok, meaning that the military is essentially in control of security in Bangkok. There are a lot of conflicts with the police going on in Bangkok, and strikes, but in my neck of the woods I'm completely safe, so no worries. I don't think I'll even be passing through Bangkok again until I have to fly out in October, and things will most likely be settled down by then...
